About the Author
A lifelong love affair with stories
From the moment her mother read her a picture book of Pinocchio at age three, Marilee Joy Mayfield was captivated by children's literature. At eleven, she launched a magazine with her younger sister. By her early twenties, she was teaching and writing curriculum.
Marilee has worked in every stage of the publishing process, from initial concept to completed book. Her creative focus has always centered on fairy tales and stories that encourage children to grow into kind, empathetic individuals. Writing for children is her greatest passion, and she has no plans to ever retire.
